Location of Classes
Classes are held at Stephen and Cynthia Gregory's 1826 historic home in Silvermine, CT, featured in the Norwalk Advocate and Wilton Home Magazine, and opened to the public during the "Silvermine Historic Home Tour" in September 2006.
"The house that Stephen and his wife Cynthia built in 1826 began as a modest structure and was enlarged several times. The clapboards are made of apple wood and the floor of chestnut, oak, and pine--all from local mills. The Seven Sisters roses that Cynthia planted are still flourishing in the garden. In 1840, a Wilton merchant, Alfred Free, bought the property and operated a small store on what was then two and a half acres. The home has also housed a "pattern maker" and a "vocalist," possibly an opera singer. Today's owners have both restored, renovated, and enlarged this charming cottage to fit their lifestyle and love of entertaining."
