Salsa Marinara / Seafarer Sauce


Ingredienti / Ingredients

  • Pomodori freschi già cotti al vapore, sbucciati e schiacciati / fresh tomatoes already steamed, peeled and chopped

  • Aglio fresco / fresh garlic

  • Olio d'oliva / olive oil

  • Peperoncino / hot pepper

Preparazione della Salsa Marinara / Preparation of the Marinara Sauce

  • Soffriggere l'aglio nella padella con dell'olio d'oliva

  • Sauté the garlic in the pan with olive oil

  • Versare i pomodori già cotti al vapore, sbucciati e schiacciati e aggiungere del peperoncino fresco

  • Add the fresh tomatoes already steamed, peeled and chopped and add some fresh hot pepper

  • Cuocere per un paio di minuti

  • Cook for a couple of minutes

  • Servire la salsa con calamari fritti o sulla pasta già cotta e scolata

  • Serve the sauce with fried squid or over pasta already cooked and drained

  • Senza formaggio! Without cheese!

Marinara sauce doesn't require fresh basil, but if you like the aroma of this fragrant and healthful herb as much as I do, be my guest and change the name of the sauce. You can call it: "Salsa di pomodoro fresco e basilico" and sprinkle a lot of parmigiano!
